I’m Ander Gimenez, and I’m a game design student born, raised, and living in Mexico City. My mission is to make games that have mechanics that better connect to the story. I know it sounds generic, but whenever I come up with a game mechanic, I first think of a story or world where the mechanic would work.
I know the principles and theory of game design, and I’ve made at least four games. I also know how to 3D model with Maya and Blender at an intermediate level. I know how to use Photoshop at an intermediate level. I speak Spanish and English fluidly. I know the basics of programming in Java and C#, Unity 3D, music theory and film theory. I’m also good at public speaking.
Most of my ideas right now would be Arcade Flight game, Simulation Flight game, RPGs, Shoot ‘em Ups/Bullet Hells, and Horror games. However, I do like all game genres, and I could work with just about any.
I’m finishing up my personal website, where I plan to put both my portfolio and an offer to make 3D models on a commission basis. I am also working on a board game with a few friends.
I hope to either have my own game studio, work for one, or work as a freelance game designer or 3D artist.
